Prof Francis L. Munier was Full Professor and Head of Ocular Oncology, Pathology & Genetics at Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital until 2023, where he continues to serve as consultant. His team contributed to extend the frontiers of conservative management, notably by introducing techniques for intravitreal and intracameral chemotherapy.

Under his leadership the Lausanne Retinoblastoma Clinic became a quaternary reference center, recruiting >50 new patients yearly from 75 nations.

He was co-chair of the European Retinoblastoma group (2014-2020), honorary secretary of ISOO (2017-2019), and president of ISGEDR (2019-2025).

He delivered some 300 invited lectures in 50 different countries and is the author or co-author of over 300 peer-reviewed papers and 35 book chapters (H-index>59).
